SDA Beliefs

Jesus
Jesus is our personal, living Saviour and eternal life is only available through faith in Him. Everyone is in need of the salvation He alone can provide. (Rom 3:22-26)

The Bible
The Bible is the authoritative revelation of God's will for our lives. It is the guide to the Christian life-style, right doctrine and future events. (2 Tim 3:16-17)

The Trinity
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are all equally divine, each having a vital role to play in the salvation of the human race. (2 Cor 13:13)

The Commandments
The Ten Commandments are a demonstration of God's character and are binding on all mankind. They reveal to us God's desire that we live life to the full, respect Him as our creator and love our fellow human beings. (Exodus 20:1-17)

The Sabbath
The seventh day of the week, Saturday, is the biblical Sabbath. It is a day that we set aside for the worship of the Creator, for rest and rejuvenation. (Exodus 20:8-11

Why Saturday?

The Second Coming of Jesus
In accordance with His promise, Jesus is coming again. This will be a literal event, visible to the entire world. When Jesus does return, this world will be cleansed and then remade. Sin, suffering and death will be no more. (John 14:1-3)

Sacraments
Seventh-day Adventists copy Jesus' example and practice Baptism by total immersion, (John 3:23; Acts 8:38-39). The sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated on a regular basis and is open for all to participate. The emblems are seen as symbols of the reality of Christ's sacrificial death. (1 Cor 11:23-25)

Life-style
The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, made by God to be cared for and enjoyed. This is best done by avoiding the intake of any harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol and narcotics. Many Adventists are also vegetarians. (1 Cor 6:9-10)

Hope
Only faith in Jesus can bring true hope, peace and joy into the lives of people today. (John 3:16)
